Unsuccessful conversation?

Unsuccessful conversation?

Mr. Preacher man:

There’s wars and rumours of…

Mr. Skeptic:

I’ve heard it all before…

Mr. Preacher man:

Mr. Skeptic:

“And quite frankly I don’t want to hear it anymore”

Mr. Preacher man:

But you must listen to what I say…

Mr. Skeptic:

“I don’t want to be rude

But what good – would it do anyway?”

Mr. Preacher man:

But you must know the facts

Found in Genesis to Revelation

(Including the book of Acts)

Mr. Skeptic:

“Seems like you are going to insist…”

Mr. Preacher man:

Well I’m told to compel you to come in…

don’t resist…

Mr. Skeptic:

“I Think I prefer my own sin…”

Mr. Preacher man:

Well that sums it up best of all

From your own lips your words did fall

Mr. Skeptic:

“From my own lips – yep – you heard it here first…”

Mr. Preacher man:

As the words fell

So you are fallen

From your own lips your words have told

The Saga of lostness – you are out in the cold…

Mr. Skeptic:

“But it’s my cold…”

Mr. Preacher man:

Exactly my friend

But you have yet to see

That your own words mean what they say

Fallen man – keeping his own sin

I’m sorry you feel that way

Genuine mistake?

Genuine mistake?

Now I genuinely hope you realise

You have made a mistake

You thought the whole thing was fake

You don’t get –

that the message is for your sake

It isn’t god-spell it’s gos-pel

Of which I speak

May you listen and seek

The Strong Lion – The Lamb (who is Meek)

When you seek you will find

It’s a simple message of

The Life The Truth and The Way

“I can’t get it” I hear you say

But inside you are in a fray

I was too — all turmoil within

I had to bow and seek His Life

A great descending peace

took away my strife

And later I found a believing wife

My story in a nutshell:

It’s not in religion or a set of rules

(Sometimes that’s Man-made rules)

Perpetrated by fools

Rather –

It’s a crying-out like the man of old

Who beat his breast and didn’t look-up

He held out his heart-cup

And it was filled

Life and life more abundantly

We ought to be thrilled

So think again –

‘cause the gospel deserves

your one-hundred-percent

(Luke 18/13-14)

If I Scream…?

If I scream…?

If I scream at you

Will you get it?

Pointing the finger

Ramming the bible down…

Even just a bit?

What If I pin you to the wall

And – finger-in-your-face

Become the hell-fire preacher

You think is a disgrace?

Shall I lower my tone

And from the guttural part

Utter what you need to know?

‘Cause I can see your world

Falling apart and

You have nowhere to go

Your opinion is as good as the next one

That’s your foundational philosophy (or so)

But all opinions set aside – when God speaks

We all have – nowhere to hide

Just as He called out in the garden

‘Where are you?’ As though He didn’t know

Adam materially hid – God ready to expose

Sin had entered – it’s sickness to impose

Will you get it?

That’s the question that filters down

From line to line herein

There is freedom from the guilt

All losers are yet to win

The message is loud and clear

But you softly turn away with a cough

That’s why the frustrated preacher

Tries to warn you with too much froth

But if he states it calmly

Will you still be at a loss?

It takes a great turnaround

Like the ocean liner on the sea

It took a while with yours truly

Before I – did clearly see

Permanent Words

The poems came-in hard and fast

Asking the questions that life itself asks

The poems came a-fluttering down upon your mind

They try to get your attention amidst whatever life you find

And up from nowhere comes your earthly responses

As you think you have the answers

Time seemingly stands-still before you later find

Your answers – are-in-fact a bind

Binding you to this earthly domain

You don’t know if you will ever find answers again

As the answers have come and gone

With no peace permanent – ‘til the eternal dawn

When you are drawn by The Father

And if you stop to see the altar

You will find The Words He speaks

Far greater – by far – (divinely unique!)

They are Words with spirit and life replete

No poem can ever venture to repeat

No good words can surpass

The Words of heaven sent First Class

In many ways in our world, restraint is being cast off.

Restraining oneself from bad behaviour, is at a premium.

Instead mankind is giving in – to the lower nature that every human is born with.

This is manifest in many and varied ways when sinful indulgence is practiced.

The conscience everyone has – is eroded, or obliterated, depending on how much or how little a man or a woman listens to, or ignores, their conscience.

The killer – kills one person defying the restraint of their conscience. Having denied conscience they lust to kill again. Until by casting-off restraint time after time, their conscience becomes seared with a hot iron, and they become a serial killer.

I Timothy 4/

Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

Every Christian is called to live up to the dictates of their conscience. But there is more at work than just their individual conscience. The Word of God informs the conscience in the mind of the believer.

Also The Holy Spirit Himself responds to the believer who obeys their conscience.

Paul speaks of this in the following verse:

Romans 9/1

I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit…

The New International version says:

I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit…

The Holy Spirit of God working in and with the believer’s conscience.

The conscience obeyed – restores or maintains restraint.

Many ignoring their conscience minute by minute daily, and we are on our way to anarchy rule. Here are three separate scriptures you can search for yourself:

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise.

(Including the counsel of the correctly informed conscience).

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.

(God sees every violation of the conscience – every heart that has disobeyed conscience, – that’s why He is The Almighty).

In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

Their conscience tells them this (whatever ‘this’ is) is wrong. They choose to ignore their conscience, to serve selfishness.

Selfishness leads to more selfishness. A life led casting-off restraint. Finally two more scriptures to be found in your concordance:

The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered.

Where there is no revelation, the people cast-off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law

The law of God when obeyed through the inner workings of The Holy Spirit in a person’s life (Christian) – keeps our conscience clean and clear. Happy is the man who maintains a clear conscience.

We need the ongoing revelation of God through His Word to keep a clear conscience.

As the world drifts more and more away from the Revelation of Christ – more and more is restraint cast-off.

All the ills of the world are the fruits of departure from The Only Living and True God and His Son Jesus Christ and His teachings.

As I, as a sinner, obeyed the work of The Holy Spirit upon my conscience and admitted my sin, – Christ came into my life, in an unmistakable way.

Just as it was hard for Paul the apostle (previously Saul of Tarsus) to kick against the promptings of a God-influenced conscience – so it is hard for anyone to resist, when God takes a dealing with them.

Recognise the voice of God in your conscience, repent and confess your sin. The result is Emmanuel – God with us, God in us the hope of glory.

What a glorious salvation He offers!

But He waits to be invited. He will not force His way in. He will influence us to find the right direction, but we must comply wholeheartedly.

Cast-off the power of darkness and receive Christ as Lord – your conscience is trying to get you to agree.

form of…

form of…

2 Timothy 3:5

…having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Reading from the beginning of this chapter will cause us to realise that there is a list of traits present in individuals that are referred to – from which we are exhorted to turn away.

This list refers to the increase of evil in the last days. We have to conclude that it refers to people who are hardened and entrenched in the listed behaviour(s).

But it is my intention in this short post to examine the last trait in the list.

Notice the word ‘form’ – the Greek word entails the following understanding: Form, outline, semblance. From morphoo; formation, i.e., appearance (concretely) formula).

This refers to people who had every outward appearance that they were ‘godly’. They did the things that many associate with religion. Just like the Pharisees – a religious sect that Jesus encountered in His travels.

Jesus looks through the outward veneer of religion into mankind’s heart.

He spoke against the fruit of Pharisaism more than perhaps any other group of people.

Hypocrisy – is [Dictionary: the practice of claiming to have higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case:]

Claiming to be godly with outward acts that gave the appearance of righteousness…

But denying the power of God, who (as in) The Holy Spirit supplies the transforming power that changes a person in their inner man/woman.

This then leads to outward acts of godliness, which, with the contentment Christ gives, is great gain. (I Timothy 6/6)

When we talk of power in the context of The Almighty, we are of course talking of God’s ability to do things or everything.

Jesus said that His true followers would receive power…

Acts 1/

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Power as in: Gk. From dunamai; force; specially, miraculous power.

God’s enablement to live a godly life and to spread the gospel. Godliness born out of relationship with Christ.

No relationship – no power. No power to live as God requires us to live – and we are left with a ‘form’ of godliness.

Some may sincerely try their best to be godly, but haven’t yet encountered The Living God.  Others present-to-the-world a ‘face’ of godliness and piety but with no relationship or encounter with the power and peace that Christ gives.

Some have no need of relationship so able in themselves are they, (in their own eyes), to produce a form of godliness. With outward acts of pseudo-piety they are out to impress us.

But Jesus saw through it all.

…from such people turn away!

Translated for miracles

Translated for miracles.

I was thinking of the many men and women of God who have made their contribution to God’s kingdom down through the decades and centuries.

No two people in history are the same. And we can hope, we make some kind of unique contribution to God’s kingdom, before we leave the planet and come fully and completely into that same kingdom, in heaven.

Christians are already in this kingdom, even though still in the flesh on the earth:

Colossians 1/13:

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (or translated) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love…

This is a done deal. We are – by being ‘in Christ’ – also in His kingdom. His kingdom is where the King is – which is within our beings, as Christians.

The kingdom of God is in the midst of the gathering of God’s Christian people, but also is within us individually.

Someone once said that some Christians are so earthly minded, they are no heavenly use, others are so heavenly minded, they are no earthly use.

God wants us in balance.

The biggest challenge that faces the believer in Christ, is to abide in Him.

As we abide – the possibilities are fathomless.

John 15/7

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

When we fail to abide, but step back into the flesh with all it’s deceitful-heart ways, we will most certainly, fail to avail ourselves of all that The Lord has purchased for us. (Jer. 17/9)

Some folks – believer and non-believer alike, dismiss too readily the possibility of a miracle.

They are so used to leaning on their own understanding, that any openness to God moving supernaturally, is dismissed out of hand.

So wary are they, and skeptical in their outlook, sometimes re-enforced by knowledge or experience of charlatans, they miss out on the possibility of God speaking, and producing miracle-receiving-faith.

Some folks, they believe, are too gullible. “You won’t catch me believing for miracles”, is their response, in blindness to the scepticism that dominates their outlook to the exclusion of receiving from God.

My advice? Wipe the table clean from all your skepticism and start to turn your eyes on Jesus. Remember the three Hebrew ‘children’,

Daniel 3/

“O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. 18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

Some don’t realise that they are serving unwittingly, Nebuchadnezzar’s gods, with their unbelief and skepticism, that suggests that God could not, or would not perform a New Testament miracle in this day.

Notice this ‘total acceptance’ kind of faith brought a miracle of deliverance. They did not die but lived…

Psalm 116

16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

Where are you at?

There is a great spiritual vacuum in every person’s life ’til they meet Jesus by the coming of The Holy Spirit into their being.

Everyone is at a different experience level of revelation regarding the above statement.

Some are at the door-shut-fast stage. They – right now – have no intention of pursuing the matter. They have many thoughts blocking up their minds. Too busy, too afflicted, too pleasure-oriented, too angry at the world, too lethargic, too atheistically inclined, too caught up with some cause they espouse and that they are determined to make a difference in, too anti-christian because of another religion they follow, too busy ignoring the reality of death, too indifferent to anything that is outside of ‘eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die’.

Others are half-way there between not being convinced and fully realising that indeed Christ is Lord, The Only Begotten Son of The Living God.

Where are you?

Enter – The Lord of heaven and earth – enter God the convincer of men:

John 16:7-9 (Re: The Holy Spirit)

But I tell you the truth: it is expedient to you that I go: for if I go not, the Paraclete will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

And when he is come, he will convince the world of sin, and of justice, and of judgment.

You door-shut-fast folks – I plead  with you, stop in your tracks – make yourself look-into the claims of The Lord Jesus Christ.

You half-way-there folks, to enable you to come to a place of complete persuasion – pray! Pray and ask Jesus to make Himself known to you.

Every blessing to those who will take themselves in hand in these days of increased sorrows, wars and rumours of wars, and widespread confusion between right and wrong.
